"We were an incredible building in the 60's and then it went to the wayside and instead of throwing it away, they re-imagined it and we created space where there wasn't space, it really is an incredible building now," says Frank Remesch, General Manager of CFG Arena. The original building is preserved but they made many structural changes and introduced new partnerships. The arena is still undergoing changes but owners gave a tour of the venue. That'll probably get you out faster and home at a decent hour.BALTIMORE - Owners of CFG Bank Arena decided it was time to bring the 1960's era basketball and concert arena into the 21st century, with an emphasis on hosting more concert style events, even providing tasty concert food and drinks. There is plenty of parking around the arena, so do your research and pick somewhere that you may have to walk a couple blocks to get to. Don't let the parking situation deter you from seeing a show here. Concert inside and the facility.fantastic. So, in short, parking, horrendous, not good. It took us less time to drive home than it was to get out of the garage. Do whatever you need to do to empty that garage." Eventually, about 45 minutes later, we started making our way down the ramps and out. Baltimore City Police can be heard on the scanner, "close down Howard Street. While waiting to get out, we heard on a police scanner that there was an assault downstairs in the garage. We waited over 45 minutes just to move our car. Getting to the concert and parking was super convenient. We parked on the top level of the garage adjacent to the arena. Tons of security and attendants waiting to help concert goers. Royal Farms being smaller provides a much more intimate atmosphere. Overall, the concert atmosphere was fantastic we've been to concerts at Verizon Center before and although having had great experiences there, since the arena in DC is much bigger, things were a bit different. The concert itself was excellent! Audio was excellent (for Journey more than Asia) and the video screens provided amazing onstage views of the band. Moreover, there were plenty of beverage vendors walking throughout, so if the lines were too long, which they weren't, one would still be able to purchase a drink from the walking vendors. Food and beverages being sold at well-manned stands and stations either to the left or right. Our section was immediately off the concourse where rest rooms were just to the left. They were extremely comfortable and with no issues whatsoever seeing the stage located on the end of the arena on the other side. Our seats were in section 224, first row. Concession stands were plentiful and at each one, at least two servers who were courteous, welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. Lots of security, attendants throughout the building and on every level. My first time back since then, and to say the least I was very impressed. Back then, the arena gave the impression of being an old, dumpy building, with little to offer spectators. My wife had never been to the arena before, while I had seen a Baltimore Blast game many, many years ago. My wife and I went to see Journey and Asia at Royal Farms Arena last week.
